Blanc space: the best white homeware

White’s no longer just a shade for your walls, skirting boards and doorframes. Blame it on the Scandi trend, our love of all things minimal, or a desire to create calm in a busy world: from high-end to high street, designers have embraced white as the colour of the season.

And no, we aren’t talking about beige, grey or even champagne — only the purest, bright, gleaming white.

Create interest and depth by building up contrasting textures; try a sleek Bang & Olufsen speaker or a sculptural Studio Ilio stool in front of one of the new generation of textured wallpapers, such as Graham and Brown’s Origami number.

The only down side? Guests might need to wash their hands before they come in.
