Former Disney star Bella Thorne has won a Pornhub award for her directorial debut, Him & Her.
Thorne rose to fame when starred in the Disney Channel Original show Shake it Up alongside Euphoria actress Zendaya. Since then, she’s been busy, releasing music, starring in films including Assasination Nation and Midnight Sun and penning the autobiographical book The Life of a Wannabe Mogul. Now, she’s expanded her reach and is taking the director’s chair.
Him & Her was described as “a modernistic, sexually explicit Romeo and Juliet-like depiction of two star-crossed lovers who have an unbridled sexual longing for each other” by Pornhub vice president Corey Price.
The film premiered in Germany during the Oldenburg Film Festival and it stars well-known porn stars Small Hands and Abella Danger.
Thorne was awarded the Vision Award during the 2nd Annual Pornhub Awards on Saturday. She wasn’t the only celebrity to attend the adult awards show. Reggaeton singer Bad Bunny and actor Luka Sabbat also posed on the red carpet. In 2018, Kanye West appeared at the PornHub awards and dropped merchandise and performed.
In a statement about the film Thorne, said “Breaking the taboo of what's classified as beautiful has always been a vision of mine and it brings me such joy to see this being recognized for what it truly is...beautiful visionary art."
This was Thorne’s first ever short and her first foray into the porn industry. "Well, the process of shooting was quite interesting because we had real-life f***ing on set, which I have never shot before,” she said in a video posted by Pornhub on the company’s YouTube channel.
Thorne is also set to star in the upcoming television series Paradise City, based on the film American Satan. The original was a supernatural musical thriller that came out in October of 2017.
The 22-year-old actress has also been making headlines with her personal life. She recently announced on Instagram that she’s seeing production assistant Alex Martini. She’s also in a long distance open relationship with Italian singer Benjamin Mascolo.
