In case you don’t check Queen Bey’s website daily, Lizzo posted a screenshot of the message so we could all share in her joy (she also probably just wanted to be able to read it every day, to be honest).
Alongside an adorable shot of baby Lizzo, Beyoncé’s simple yet life-changing message read, “Happy Birthday Lizzo.”
In addition to writing about her excitement in her Instagram post caption, Lizzo posted her full reaction on her Instagram stories - which was basically all of us if Beyoncé were to somehow magically know about our birthday.
“Beyoncé wished me happy birthday. Beyoncé wished me happy birthday on her website,” Lizzo whispered in disbelief before covering her face and taking a deep breath.
“She knows it’s my birthday. Thank you, Beyoncé,” Lizzo continued through tears.
“Oh my God, thank you, Beyoncé. She knows I exist,” Lizzo realized before (understandably) being struck speechless. “I am...I don’t know what to do with myself. Wow. I’m gonna sit with that one for a while.”
Before signing off, Lizzo took a minute to thank everyone else who wished her a happy birthday. “Thanks for all the birthday messages, everybody on the Internet. Y’all are so sweet,” she said.
But let’s be honest, there’s no birthday gift greater than a shout out from Beyoncé.
