Fashion editor, author, eccentric dresser and object of all-round affection Suzy Menkes is auctioning more than 80 pieces from her private collection of pioneering fashion.

The collection includes clothes, bags and accessories by designers such as Emilio Pucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Lacroix, Chanel and Ossie Clark.
Many of the items date back to the Sixties, so it was appropriate that a star guest at last night's private view at Christie's was Mick Jagger, with his girlfriend, L'Wren Scott. Also there were Mario Testino, Alice Rawsthorn, Mary Katrantzou, Erdem Moralioglu and Jasper Conran.
