How much does your expression change after a couple of glasses of vino?

A Brazilian photographer attempted to find out just that in an enlightening photo series that captures a group of people after one, two and three glasses of wine.

Marcos Alberti snapped his friends as they arrived at his studio, and continued to take their protraits as they enjoyed a few drinks after a long day at work.

The resulting photography project, titled ‘Three Glasses Later’, shows just how a couple of glasses of plonk can lift your mood.

While a few of the subjects seem to take the alcohol in their stride, barely cracking a smile between the first and final photos, others transform throughout the series, playfully giggling and grinning at the camera.

'There is a saying about wine that I really like and it's something like this: "The first glass of wine is all about the food, the second glass is about love and the third glass is about mayhem,"’ the photographer writes on his website.

'I really wanted to see for myself if that affirmation was, in fact, true.'
