How can I possibly say no to something that makes 80 per cent of faces look better? Never shy away from a sun hat. Apart from the obvious protection from sun and heat, which helps with the old anti-ageing yadda yadda, it also gives an air of nonchalant cool — difficult to achieve without trying too hard. And that’s the secret, don’t overdo it. Go for something comfortable and unfussy, as opposed to dramatic and OTT. I love this one by Christys’.

Sarah Angold and Freedom at Topshop collaboration Perspex has always made me happy (don’t ask), as have diffusion lines. So when the two combine in a laser-cut acrylic, Perspex mash-up in the form of jewellery, it’s definitely something I want a piece of. In this case, jeweller Sarah Angold gets together with Freedom at Topshop for a bright selection of pieces. I’ve got my eye on the (Perspex) earrings, naturally.
