From a galloping giraffe running from a predator to a majestic pack of lions prowling the savanna, this stunning set of photographs captures daily life in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve.

Photographer Anup Shah spent months living amongst the wildlife of the Masai River to capture the many animals living there and the rhythm of the game reserve’s seasons - from the start of new life at the end of the rainy season, through to the hardships endured during the long, dry season.

Long recognised as one of the masters of wildlife photography, Wiltshire-residing Shah is regular winner at the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, and has spent the past four years capturing these images of the Masai Mara.

The breathtaking shots form part of a new book by Shah, The Mara, which features over 100 of his black and white nature photographs from the area, follow his previous titles: Tales from Gombe, Circle of Life, African Odyssey and Serengeti Spy.
