The future of villas: Thailand

The luxurious Iniala Beach House opens on Wednesday on Natai Beach, with three teak-roofed villas and a penthouse

Piling luxury upon luxury, Iniala Beach House opens on Wednesday on Natai Beach, just north of Phuket island, with three teak-roofed villas and a penthouse created by multiple, international designers.

The Collectors Villa is the work of the Brazilian Campana Brothers, with a Mother of Pearl and Bronze spa and 22-seat private cinema. Thai designer Eggarat Wongcharit is behind Villa Siam, a lavish space with a spa.

The Villa Bianca was decked out in a combined effort with rooms resembling seashells from the Spanish A-Cero architectural team and Philosophy of Design’s concept based on Russian dolls. The Iniala Penthouse is a collaboration between founder Mark Weingard and British-born Graham Lamb, with fantastical features including a sand-like floor, a bed that extends from the ceiling and a sunken, desert-like bathing area.

Expect equally conceptual Thai fusion dishes from three-Michelin starred Basque chef Eneko Atxa at Aziamendi restaurant. All this glamour may not sound family friendly but the residences’ own Playhouse will be a space for children.

Exclusive use from US$80,000 per week. Individual villas and the Iniala Penthouse Suite from US$15,000 (10 per cent will be donated to local charities), iniala.com
