If you're planning a trip to the city that never sleeps, make sure you mark off November in your calendar.

According to Skyscanner's booking data, the average price from London to New York City comes in at around £500, but if you purchase tickets for November, the average flights are about £413, Cosmopolitan reports.

In other words, an extra £85 pounds in your pocket to drop at Saks or Bloomingdales.

For the best savings, Skyscanner advises customers to book flights 22 weeks in advance, so make sure you remember to do it in June if you are planning to make the November journey.

If you're still not convinced, November is a fab time to travel to New York (Think: Christmas displays, ice skating at Rockefeller Plaza and the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade).

Looking to travel there this summer? Perhaps reconsider. The prices are 38 percent higher than the year's average, which will burn more than the pesky sunburn you're bound to get exploring the concrete jungle.
