Here I am again, browbeating you, because good eyebrows will do more for the architecture of your face than good cheekbones. Threading is going to give a cleaner finish than plucking or — God forbid — waxing and if they are looking a bit sparse then a stroking on of sweet almond or Vitamin E oil before bed will have more than a merely folkloric effect.

But, as with all things, specialists are what we seek. And Blink Brow Bar is the eyebrow expert. All the threaders in its brow bars have a lightness of touch and an understanding of facial symmetry. What you don’t want is a heavy-handed maniac. Like, you know, when you have been growing your hair for summer and you go to the hairdresser and ask for a tiny trim — just evening out the ends, really — and they chop and chop and then insist that they have only taken off half an inch and you say thank you and pay and tip and go home and cry.

But Blink Brow Bar also does excellent products and, even though I am possessed of a strong brow, there are gaps and funny bits so I wheel in the subtle power of its Brow Sculpt. The accompanying angled brush, for a start, is not too stabby and hard like many brow brushes, so you can manipulate the strokes more realistically. The gel itself is creamy, smooth, natural, matte and buildable so eyebrows don’t look too perfect and painted on. You want textured arches, not solid stripes.
