Blackheath crash: Motorcyclist fighting for life after 'colliding with bollard' in rush hour smash

A motorcyclist is fighting for his life following a rush hour crash in south east London.

Police said they were called to the accident on Shooters Hill Road in Blackheath at around 5.45pm.

The man, whose age is unknown, has been taken to hospital where he is in a critical condition.

Scotland Yard said the collision happened at the junction with Hyde Vale.

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said they were called to reports of a rider having hit a bollard.

She said a man was taken to the Royal London Hospital with head injuries.

Traffic was this evening building on Shooters Hill Road, also known as the A2, which has been closed in both directions between the Goffers Road and Hyde Vale junctions.
