A woman is fighting for her life after she was hit by a car in south London.

The victim, a pedestrian in her 30s, was hit by a car in Dulwich shortly before 7.30am on Wednesday, police said.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the crash on Thurlow Park Road at the junction with Birkbeck Hill.

London’s air ambulance also attended and took the pedestrian to a south London hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene near the Tulse Hill one-way system.

Police said the motorist is helping them with their enquiries.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the crash.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed.
