Seven men wielding baseball bats descended on a north London street for a brawl after a teenager was stabbed, police said.

The 18-year-old man was stabbed in the leg in Edmonton on Wednesday afternoon.

Police were alerted when he attended a north London police station with his injuries and reported being attacked in Charlton Road at about 1pm.

Scotland Yard said officers were called to a street brawl involving up to seven men armed with baseball bats later that night in the same road.

Police were called to the scene at about 8pm and believe the incidents were linked.

The men involved are aged between 20 and 25 years old.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Those involved fled the scene but a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and was taken to a north London police station for questioning.

“He has been released under investigation.

"Although none of the men stayed at the scene for treatment, police do believe they would have sustained injuries from the disorder.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Enfield CID 0208 345 3315 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or to tweet @MetCC.
