A 53-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his ex-partner and their 23-month-old daughter.

Community centre worker Valerie Forde, 45, and her daughter Real-Jahzarah McKoy, were found dead at their home address in east London on April 3.

Ms Forde’s former partner, Roland McKoy, of Oswald’s Mead, Hackney, was charged with the double murder today.

A post-mortem examination gave Ms Forde's cause of death as multiple injuries and Jahzarah's as incised wounds to the neck.

McKoy, who is Real-Jahzarah’s father, was taken to hospital following the murder and was taken to a London police station after he was discharged on April 9.

He will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
