A 14-year-old boy was left fighting for life in hospital after he was stabbed in a park in west London.

The teenager was left critically injured after he was knifed in Ravenscourt Park, Hammersmith, on Thursday evening.

Police and paramedics found the victim lying next to a bus stop on Goldhawk Road after being called to the attack shortly before 8pm.

He was treated at the scene near to the junction with Ashchurch Grove for a stab wound before being rushed to a central London hospital.

Police said on Friday morning that his injury was being treated as potentially life-threatening.

Scotland Yard were appealing for information about the stabbing, which officers believe took place in Ravenscourt Park.

Detectives from Hammersmith and Fulham CID were appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them.
