Holborn stabbing: Boy, 15, rushed to hospital after being knifed by a gang in the City

A 15-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the City of London.

One witness told the Standard he saw a teenager carrying a knife near to where the attack took place on Thursday evening.

Police raced to Brooke Street, near to Chancery Lane Tube station, at just after 6.20pm after reports of a stabbing.

A teenage boy was found injured after being attacked by a group, a Met Police spokesman said.

He was taken to a central London hospital. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

Police said the attack happened in Gray's Inn Road before spilling onto Portpool Lane.

Witness Cameron Penny said he and a colleague encountered part of the incident as they left work.

Mr Penny told the Standard: “We saw a group of at least three guys on pedal bikes in an argument.

“My colleague thought they saw a sword. I saw one of the guys getting back on his bike holding what looked like a knife in his right hand, he was wearing a grey hooded tracksuit.”

Mr Penny described seeing were five police cars near to Chancery Lane tube and two ambulances, and added he saw someone being taken into an ambulance by paramedics.

He said he saw discarded clothing on the ground and police interviewing passers-by.

Police vans from City of London police were also spotted at the scene. City of London Police tweeted their police dogs had helped officers at the scene of the "nasty" stabbing.

Police said no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
