A man has been arrested after a woman was stabbed to death at a home in south-east London last night.
The 44-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene after police found her with stab wounds in Somertrees Avenue, Lee.
Officers had been called at about 11.20pm to reports of an assault, Scotland Yard said.
The victim’s next of kin are yet to be informed and a post-mortem investigation was due to take place this afternoon.
A Met Police spokesman said: “A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder - he remains in custody.
“Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
“Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command investigate.”
