A man has been charged with murder after a young woman was stabbed to death in north London.

Tedros Habtom Kahssay, 28, of Ridge Avenue, Winchmore Hill, is due to appear at Highbury Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Police were called to an address on Ridge Avenue shortly after noon on Saturday.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended and London’s Air Ambulance landed in nearby Bush Hill Gardens.

A woman in her 20s was treated for stab and slash wounds but was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
