A third man has been arrested over the murder of Daniel Young who was stabbed to death on his way to work.

Mr Young was walking through Kendor Gardens towards Morden Tube station when he was attacked on the morning of January 19.

Ambulance crews pronounced him dead at the scene and a post mortem examination gave the cause of death as a stab wound.

The 30-year-old was just two days into his dream job as a university lecturer at the London campus of Coventry University when he was killed.

Police have now arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of Mr Young’s murder. He has been taken into custody at a south London police station.

Two other men aged 26 and 35 have already been arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed by police.

Officers are still investigating any possible link with another stabbing in nearby Lewis Road where a 23-year-old was knifed in the buttocks.
