A murder probe has been launched after a 41-year-old man who suffered serious injuries during an assault in west London died in hospital.

Police scrambled to Yiewsley at around 10pm on Tuesday after receiving reports of a man injured in Gordon Road.

Officers arrived and found Robert Komuro, 41, fighting for his life after suffering serious head injuries.

He was rushed to a central London hospital and was pronounced dead on Thursday afternoon.

His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem will be carried out in due course, police said.

Launching the murder probe on Saturday, Detective Chief Inspector Robert Pack said: "This was a tragic incident in which a man has suffered fatal head injuries after being assaulted.

"The circumstances of Robert Komuro’s death are complex but we believe he may have been involved in an altercation with two men prior to being injured.”

Two men, aged 44 and 42, were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

They have been released on bail until mid-August.

Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference Cad 9037/23Jul.
