A teenage boy and a man have been arrested after a stabbing in a Nottingham cinema complex.

Both were detained on suspicion of possession of a bladed article while the teenager, 16, was also arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were called to Cineworld at around 8.15pm on Sunday, December 1, following reports of a stabbing after a fight in the cinema complex.

A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital following the incident. He has since been released and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Superintendent Ross Cooke, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our officers have acted quickly to establish the circumstances around this incident leading to two arrests and the recovery of a knife.

“Isolated incidents such as this are incredibly serious and as a force we are committed to ensuring that appropriate action is taken to keep people safe and bring to justice those responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 804 of December 1, 2019.
