A man who is accused of whipping a terrified bus passenger repeatedly over the head with a belt is wanted by police.

Garvey Gordon, 22, allegedly lashed out at the 33-year-old man without any provocation as the pair travelled on the W3 bus along Middle Lane in Hornsey.

The victim was taken to hospital for head injuries but has since recovered after the attack on November 21 last year.

Gordon failed to appear on police bail last week in connection with assault. Scotland Yard today appealed to the public to help trace him.

Police believe he could be in Haringey, Enfield or Northampton, a Met spokesman said.

Anyone with information on Gordon's whereabouts can contact DC Andy Barnard on 07785 398757 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting ref: 2826647/14.
