A man is fighting for life in hospital after being hit by a moped in north-east London.

Police and Paramedics were scrambled to the scene in Stamford Hill, Stoke Newington, at about 11.30pm on Friday.

The 40-year-old pedestrian was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition, officers said.

The moped rider stopped at the scene, near the road’s junction with Cazenove Road.

No arrests have been made.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Hackney.

“Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.

“Enquiries continue. There have been no arrests.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact officers on 020 8543 5157 or via 101.
