A 25-year-old biker is fighting for his life after a late-night crash in west London.

Now detectives are appealing for witnesses to the collision in Hounslow that left the motorcyclist in a life-threatening condition in hospital.

Scotland Yard said they were called by the ambulance service just after 11pm.

"Detectives from the serious collision investigation unit based in Merton are investigating," said a Met spokesman. "They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and assist them with their inquiry."

The smash happened near the junction with Hibernia Road. Police closed off the junction and TfL diverted bus routes 110, 111 and H28.

If you have any information they urge you to call the unit on 020 8543 5157.
