Chiswick Bridge is shut after a motorcyclist was hit by a car.

The area around the bridge is "gridlocked" and traffic is blocked off between Chalkers Corner and Hogarth Roundabout, according to witnesses.

London Ambulance Service said they were called to the scene just before 4.30 and sent an ambulance crew, who treated a man for back, leg and hand injuries.

The Standard has contacted the Met Police for comment, but Sgt Martin Summer tweeted: "Serious accident on A316 near to Chiswick Bridge. Avoid the area if possible."
