Coulsdon crash: Cyclist suffers serious head injury in south London collision

A cyclist has been seriously injured after a crash in south London.

Police were called to Brighton Road, Coulsdon, at 2pm on Friday after reports of a collision between a car and a cyclist

The male cyclist, believed to be in his mid 30s, suffered a serious head injury.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 1.55pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a male cyclist.

"We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a single responder by car.

"We treated the man for a serious head injury at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre in south London."

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Road closures are in place while emergency services remain at the scene.
