A motorcyclist has died after a collision involving a car south of Beckenham on Monday.

The man, aged in his 40s, was found seriously injured on Croydon Road around 7am and despite best efforts of the emergency services, he died at the scene.

The collision occurred near the junction with Groveland Road.

Metropolitan Police are in the process of informing the man’s family.

The driver of the car involved received minor injuries, the Met said.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.45am today to reports of a road traffic collision in Croydon Road, Bromley.

“We sent two ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer to the scene.

“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a patient died. We also checked over a second patient at the scene.”

Officers from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating the crash.

Croydon Road is closed in both directions. Bramerton and Westbury roads are also closed.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area as there are significant delays.

Any witnesses are asked to call 101, quoting CAD 944/30Oct.
