Cyclist dies after falling from his bike in Richmond Park

A cyclist died after falling from his bike in Richmond Park, police said.

The 40-year-old man was airlifted to a central London hospital following the accident in Broomfield Hill, Richmond Park, at 9.30am yesterday.

Police later confirmed the man had passed away.

It is not believed another vehicle or pedestrian was involved in the incident, police said.

Officers from the MPS Royal Parks Command Unit are investigating.

Broomfield Hill is a popular road climb for cyclists. The 1km route has gradients which range from four percent to 12 per cent with very fast descents.
