A motorbike rider in his 20s has been killed in a collision in north-west London.

Emergency services, including London Air Ambulance, rushed to Falloden Way in Barnet after reports of a motorbike colliding with a car just before 11am.

Paramedics desperately tried save the rider but the 29-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver of the car stopped and was not arrested, but officers are appealing for witnesses.

The road was closed off in both directions as police made enquiries into the collision.

Detective Sergeant Jane Mallett, from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: "We would urge any members of the public to come forward with information, specifically if they saw anything, as it could prove vital to our ongoing investigation."

The victim’s next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

Anyone with information can contact the dedicated witness appeal line on 020 8991 9555.
