For the first time in history, Ladbrokes has stopped taking bets on a white Christmas in December.
In an unprecedented move in the 40-year history of weather betting, the bookies are no longer displaying odds on a festive snowfall due to a record lack of interest.
On Sunday, the company's website showed betting on a white Christmas suspended - whereas during a chilly November they were slashed to 4/1.
The decision came after Friday saw the mildest December night for several decades in many parts of the UK.
The unusual temperatures have been causing havoc with outdoor Christmas ice rinks, with skaters at the Natural History museum on Saturday having to avoid puddles as the ice melted.
Daffodils have also been seen in bloom several months early not only in the south of England, but as far north as Scotland.
However, while Saturday was predicted to break records for the warmest December day, temperatures actually fell just 0.6C short, with a high of 17.1C recorded in Gravesend in Kent at 2pm.
Tropical air from the Atlantic blowing in from the south west has led to the unseasonably high temperatures, with a strong El Niño weather phenomenon, which warms the sea surface temperature, also thought to be playing a part.
Weather watchers are now suggesting December 25 will be the warmest ever, with odds of a record-breaking high temperature at 5/4.
It is also odds-on that London will be hotter than Los Angeles on Christmas Day.
