Spring-like weather will arrive in London this weekend with bright skies predicted and milder temperatures.

Forecasters say there will be some spells of sunshine, less cloud and slightly warmer weather on Friday until Sunday.

Temperatures could climb to about 13C in the capital by Sunday.

The Met Office said there will be more sun and increasingly mild conditions nationwide.

A Met Office spokesman said: “We will be seeing milder weather on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in London. There will be sunshine and bright spells, but there will still be some clouds and a slight south easterly breeze.

“On the whole it will be reasonable weather, about average for this time of year but certainly a lot better than what we’ve seen lately.”

Londoners were facing wet weather today and tomorrow the capital will see cloudy weather with a few spells of light rain in west. It will be chilly with light winds, possible frost returning overnight.

A tropical maritime air, which can raise temperatures by several degrees, is expected to be travelling in to the UK from the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Met office added “spring-like” temperatures were likely to here to stay after the weekend.
