Pedestrian hit by motorcycle taken to hospital with life threatening injuries

A pedestrian is in hospital with life threatening injuries after he was struck by a motorcycle.

The 56-year-old was stood at a crossing point in Holloway Road, near the junction with Camden Road, north London, at 4.30pm yesterday evening.

He was taken to the Royal London Hospital as a priority where he remains in a critical condition.

The motorcyclist was not injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 4.30pm in the afternoon to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a duty officer and London’s Air Ambulance to the scene. We treated a man in his 50s for a head injury.”

No arrests have been made.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Alperton are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to the collision, to contact the witness appeal line at 0208 991 9555.
