Private firm in £150m deal to run services at three councils

A private company has signed a deal worth £150 million to run council services at three London boroughs in a radical merger project.

Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham are merging staff and services in a “tri-borough” scheme to save money.

Their 10-year deal with infrastructure group Amey will cover services including catering, landscaping, reception and building maintenance. It starts in October. More than 150 staff will transfer to Amey.
