Stoke Newington stabbing: Teenager knifed in back stumbled into bagel shop before collapsing

A teenager who was stabbed in the back in Stoke Newington stumbled into a bagel shop before collapsing.

The boy was found seriously injured inside The Bagel House, opposite a police station, on Stoke Newington High Street just after 12.30pm on Thursday.

The victim, in his late teens, is believed to have been knifed at a separate location down the road.

Three people were arrested at the scene; two for affray and one for affray and possession of a knife.

The victim was rushed to an east London hospital by the London Ambulance Service where he remains in a “serious” condition.

The Bagel House manager Perent Lamce told the Standard: "The boy came in to the shop and asked for hot water and then collapsed on the floor.

"The police came really quickly but I saw that he had been stabbed in the back.

"The police closed the shop and they are still investigating in it. His clothes are still there on the floor."

He added: "It's the first time this has happenned here. It's shocking that it happenned in the street at midday as well."

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called shortly before 12:30hrs Thursday, 17 November to reports of a man stabbed at a business premises in Stoke Newington High Street, N16.

“Officers attended and found a man, believed to be in his late teens; suffering from stab wounds.

“He was taken to an east London hospital in a serious condition.”

Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command have been informed and enquiries are ongoing.
