Three people have been hurt after a police car collided with another vehicle outside Lewisham University hospital.

The patients were taken to the hospital with neck and chest injuries shortly after the crash at 11.15am this morning.

The police car was not in pursuit of a vehicle at the time of the collision, Scotland Yard said.

Pictures from the scene showed emergency crews working close to a mangled vehicle.

Witnesses described how they saw fire crews cutting open a car to free an injured passenger.
