The capital's first ever Elvis fest is coming to Dagenham this summer to mark the 40th anniversary of the King of Rock N’ Roll’s death.

Legions of quiff-sporting fanatics will descend on Parsloes Park for the council-run free event on July 23.

Multi award-winning Elvis Presley tribute artists Dean Z and Pete Storm are set to headline the day of entertainment.

Storm, who has been performing for over a decade, said: “It’s a fantastic event; there’ll be lots of fun, lots of entertainment.”

The family event forms part of Barking and Dagenham Council’s Summer of Festivals, which also includes the Barking Folk Festival, Roundhouse Music Festival and the One Borough Festival.

Councillor Saima Ashraf, Deputy Leader, Community Leadership and Engagement said: “We had over 100,000 people from the borough, London and elsewhere going to our summer of Festivals. It’s London’s largest programme of summer events in one borough.”

VIP tickets to the event are currently on sale, offering access to a VIP area, two complimentary drinks, lunch and meet and greet opportunities.

Cllr Ashraf said: “It’s not now or never to get your ticket for London’s first ever Elvis Fest but it could be close. If you miss out you may end up in Heartbreak Hotel all Moody Blue.”
