Thirty firefighters were on Sunday afternoon battling a fire that broke out in a “vaping” shop in east London.

An unfortunate photograph from the scene shows smoke billowing out next to a “stop smoking today” sign on display at the Ifymax shop in Dagenham.

Ifymax sells e-cigarettes and e-liquids as well as hair and beauty products.

London Fire Brigade received a 999 call about the blaze in Parsloes Avenue just before 11.45am and sent six crews to tackle it.

No one is believed to have been injured, but the shop – which has flats above it – was badly damaged.

Smoke poured into Parsloes Avenue, which is joined on to busy Dagenham Heathway.

Paramedics from London Ambulance Service were also called.

Photographs taken later in the afternoon show the shop blackened and its windows smashed.
