A 7/7 survivor who lost both legs and an eye in the terror attack has been told he must prove he is disabled to keep receiving benefits.

Wheelchair bound Daniel Biddle, 36, was one of the most badly injured survivors of the July 2005 bombings after bearing the brunt of the explosion at Edgware Road.

Mr Biddle, a former project manager, began claiming employment benefits in 2014 when his PTSD condition stopped him working long hours.

He has been sent a questionnaire to fill out by the Department of Work and Pensions to assess his fitness to work.

He told The Sun: “It is a betrayal. To be asked questions like ‘How long can you stand for?’ How insensitive is that?

“If this isn’t re-affirming how bad my life is going to be because of my injuries, I don’t know what is.

“My wheelchair is held together with clips. I need a new one but cannot afford it. I am in this situation because my Government couldn’t protect me.”

A DWP spokesman said: “It’s important claimants receive benefits they are entitled to. This is why we ask for questionnaires to be completed.”
