Don’t be tight, pig out on truffles - at an evening of unrestrained exuberance

Let them eat pancakes. While most people celebrated Shrove Tuesday with financial austerity and 40 days of abstinence during Lent, Cassis Bistro in Brompton Road offered friends an eight-course dinner with truffles with each course, an “evening of unrestrained exuberance in celebration of the truffle season”.

“I’ve never seen such huge truffles or so many,” said Joanna Lumley,. “It’s truffles with truffles on truffles and more truffles.” Not a pancake — or indeed a horse — in sight.
