Resurrection of the bunny in Soho

Horror, death and decay are set to take over Soho with the Lawrence Alkin Gallery’s launch of Resurrection, a solo show from the artist Jessica Albarn, sister of Blur’s Damon. Death, it seems, becomes her; Jessica says her morbid enthusiasm “began when, as a child, my first rabbit died and I dug it up. I must have been five or six at the time.

What drove me to do it was my desire to resurrect my rabbit and hold on to the life that was lost. It was an experience that had a big impact on my creativity.” Who knew that the corpse of a dead pet could be so inspiring?
