Theresa May has refused to say whether or not she would vote for Brexit if there was another referendum today.

The Prime Minister declined the question three times during an interview on LBC, her first since her mishap-strewn conference speech.

When repeatedly pressed, she said she did not answer “hypothetical” questions.

Mrs May said: “I could sit here and I could say I'd still vote Remain or I'd vote Leave, just to give you an answer. I'm being open and honest with you. What I did last time round was I looked at everything and came to a judgement and I'd do exactly the same this time round.

"But we're not having another referendum. That's absolutely crucial. We are going to deliver on the vote of the British people, we are going to deliver Brexit. 29th March 2019, we come out of the European Union."

During the interview, in which members of the public called in with questions, the Prime Minister admitted she needed a “stiff drink” after her difficult conference speech.

The talk was marred by a serious coughing fit, a prankster handing her a p45 and a collapsing set.

She said: “I'd had a cough sweet before I went on and some cough medicine earlier.

“I suppose I just thought I would be ok."

She admitted that her husband Philip was concerned for her safety when prankster Simon Brodkin came up to her and handed her a p45.

She said: "I think he had been a bit worried about the individual who approached me, probably more so than I had been on my position up there on the podium.

"As everybody now knows, he gave me a really big hug because he just wanted to say well done for getting through it."

She added: "I think I probably needed a stiff drink afterwards."
