Tech & Science Daily: Google’s first Pixel Pro device with an AI focus

Google has unveiled two new smartphones - including what the tech giant’s calling its first flagship device.

The Pixel 6 and Pro model both come with a Google-designed ‘Tensor’ processor, a new array of cameras and 5 years of security updates.

At the launch event there was a big focus on AI - including some interesting new photo editing features.

Facebook’s been fined just over £50million, for not providing enough information to the competition regulator about its takeover of GIF sharing platform Giphy.

In response Facebook says it strongly disagrees with the CMA’s ‘unfair’ decision, and will consider its options.

Meanwhile, there’s more pressure on Facebook to publish information about how its platforms cause harm to children.

The UK’s health secretary Sajid Javid’s called on the social media giant to share its research.

The NSPCC says a group of more than 60 child protection experts have written to Mark Zuckerberg demanding he publish the data in full - but they’re yet to hear back.
