Business chiefs have posted “wanted” notices of the “dirty half dozen” they blame for the continuing strikes on Southern Rail.

The next walkout by train guards is set to take place on Wednesday, with up to 600 services cancelled.

Today the leaders of chambers of commerce across the Southern area joined forces to brand politicians, union and rail leaders as “The Great Train Robbers”.

They said those involved should be put in “a darkened room and not come out again until they settle” the dispute.

Wanted: The posters were put together by business chiefs

The business leaders said their targets were responsible for robbing £308 million from the local economy during the long dispute, stealing over 20,000 train journeys, daylight robbery of 300,000 commuters and destroying jobs, causing stress and trauma to families

The six named on the posters are RMT leader Mick Cash, Aslef leader Mick Whelan, transport secretary Chris Grayling, rail minister Paul Maynard, Charles Horton, CEO of Southern’s parent company GTR and David Brown, chief executive of part-owners the Go-Ahead Group.

Protest organiser Tim Cobb, of the Eastbourne & District Chamber of Commerce, said: “We must have an end to this damaging dispute.”
