Tube signal failure cripples Victoria line

Dick Murray9 May 2012

Thousands of Tube commuters suffered a second successive day of major disruption after another signal failure crippled the Victoria line.

There were severe delays throughout the length of the line following signal problems at Finsbury Park.

The line is one of the busiest on the network and used by more than 600,000 passengers a day.

Passengers suffered disruption yesterday when a signal failure forced suspension of the route between Seven Sisters and Walthamstow Central.

This caused knock-on delays throughout the remainder of the line.

Broken down trains on the Docklands Light Railway and London Overground caused further delays.

DLR services were suspended between Crossharbour and Lewisham due to a broken down train at Greenwich.

A broken down train between Gospel Oak and Barking caused delays to London Overground services.
