Brits have been left baffled over what to wear as temperatures soared to 25C in some parts of the UK.
Commuters across the country spotted hilarious contrasts between those iring on the side of caution and other lapping up the sun.
Witty observations took over Twitter on Wednesday as many struggled to find the appropriate wardrobe for the weather.
Chloe Rita said: “The diversity in British people’s clothing the minute the sun comes out…
“I have just seen a lady in a roll neck jumper, coat and scarf. Then a guy on the other side of the street with no top on and shorts!”
Joesf Fruhwald from Edinburgh noted that “no one knows how to dress.”
“It's one of those beautiful liminal days in Edinburgh where no one knows how to dress.
“We've got sweaters. We've got belly shirts. We've got puffy coats. We've got shorts. We've got knit hats,” he wrote.
London commuters faced a similar issue on the Tube.
One person wrote: “The tube was a mess. Shorts and tees, jumpers, hoodies, coats. State of everyone.”
Quite a few people claimed they were not ready to stop wearing tights.
While people in the south of the country were enjoying the sun, many people in the north noted that the warm weather had yet to reach them.
One person wrote: “That awkward moment when #heatwave is trending but you live in north-east Scotland.”
Paul McGee said: “Checked into my hotel in Glasgow last night and was told by the receptionist there’s going to be a Scottish heatwave. He followed up with ‘aye, that means the rain will be warmer.”
The warm weather in the south of England is expected to last until the end of the weekend, forecasters say.
