Brothers facing gang murder charge

12 April 2012

Two brothers are due to appear in court charged with the murder of a 16-year-old who was stabbed during a suspected gang fight.

Christian Johnson, 21, of Wyvil Road, south Lambeth, south west London, and Shane Johnson, 25, of The Bondway, south Lambeth, are charged with the murder of Oluwaseyi Christopher Sunday Ogunyemi, in Larkhall Park, Priory Court, south Lambeth, on Monday.

They are also accused of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control in a public place, and will appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court in south London, Scotland Yard said.

Detectives said a large number of youths, many of them armed, clashed in "tit for tat" reprisals on Monday.

The victim, who was known to his family and friends as Seyi, lived in Stockwell, a short distance from where he was attacked.

A post-mortem examination carried out at Greenwich Mortuary found he died from multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.

A 17-year-old boy has been under arrest in hospital and a second 17-year-old boy has also been arrested on suspicion of assault.

A 15-year-old boy originally arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail.
