London Euston has reopened after it was forced to close over damage to 500 metres of overhead wire - but passengers have been warned to major disruption until the end of service.

Passengers faced a third day of chaos as all services to and from the travel hub were cancelled on Sunday morning.

Network Rail engineers worked to fix the issue, near Wembley, after the fault was discovered on Friday afternoon, leaving hundreds of travellers hunting for alternative routes.

Customers were told not to travel on Sunday morning as all services, including Virgin Trains, London Midland and London Overground, were cancelled until around 12.30 pm.

Rail bosses have warned of "major disruption" and delays of upto 30 minutes on some services.

Other services will be cancelled or revised due to "trains and train crew being out of location", a statement posted on Network Rail's website said.

Reports on Twitter confirmed that the trains were up and running, although some passengers remained confused.

Others wanted to know how they could claim a refund for their delayed trip.

Tickets for London Midland services are being accepted on Clitern Railways between Birmingham New Street and London Marylebone and on reasonable Great Western routes into Paddington.

Trains are now able to run between London Euston and Watford Junction.

Virgin Trains said that customers who choose not to travel may be able to get a full refund.

Tickets are being accepted on Chiltern Railways, Transpenine Express services, Northern, London Midland and Virgin Trains East Coast routes.
