Hundreds of rail passengers face another day of travel chaos after London Euston was forced to close on Sunday morning.
Customers were warned to check their journeys and make alternative arrangements as travel bosses announced that services had been cancelled until at least midday.
The mayhem, which sparked carnage for Christmas shoppers on Saturday night, was caused by damage to 500 metres of overhead wire near Wembley, all of which will need replacing, Network Rail added.
Engineers have been working to fix the problem since Friday afternoon.
All train lines including Virgin Trains, London Midland and London Overground are affected.
Network Rail said in a statement posted on its website: “To complete this significant job, all lines out of London Euston will have to be closed Sunday morning. Passengers travelling on the West Coast main line in and out of Euston will be affected by delays as the timetable is amended.”
Angry passengers took to Twitter to vent their fury, with many claiming they had not been offered a replacement bus service.
Others questioned why the company had not done more to find a solution to the problem.
The train company reassured customers that engineers had been on site through the night and were “working to repair damages as quickly as possible”.
They added it was currently unclear what had caused the damage.
The disruption also sparked delays on other London services.
The Bakerloo line has no service between Stonebridge Park and Harrow and Wealdstone and there will no London Overground service between Willesden Junction and Watford Junction.
