Four men accused over the shooting of Black Lives Matter activist Sasha Johnson will all deny conspiracy to murder, the Old Bailey heard today.

Prince Dixon, 25, Troy Reid, 19, and 18-years-old Cameron De-Riggs and Devonte Brown are all accused of involvement in the shooting.

All four appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday morning via videolink from HMP Belmarsh for a preliminary hearing.

Wearing prison issue grey tracksuits, they all spoke only to confirm their identities to the court and did not enter formal pleas.

However their lawyers confirmed to the court that all four defendants will deny the charge against them.

Ms Johnson was injured during a silent disco in the garden of a house on Consort Road in Peckham just before 3am on Sunday, May 23.

She is a founding member of the Taking The Initiative Party and has been a prominent figure in the Black Lives Matter movement since last summer.

Judge Mark Lucraft QC, the Recorder of London, remanded all four defendants in custody on Friday until a further hearing on November 5.

A date for a six-week trial, to be overseen by a senior judge, has not yet been set.

Dixon, of Gravesend in Kent, Reid and Brown, both from Southwark, and Deriggs, of Lewisham, are all accused of conspiracy to murder.
