A court in Pakistan has adjourned a hearing into an appeal by the father of tug-of-love schoolgirl Molly Campbell.
Sajad Rana hopes to overturn a judge's order that his daughter should be returned to the UK to live with her mother after travelling to the country earlier this year.
The hearing was adjourned to allow Mr Rana's lawyers to further prepare the case, which will resume on Friday.
Last week the High Court in Lahore ruled that the 12-year-old, also known as Misbah Rana, had to be handed to the custody of the British High Commission by Wednesday to be sent back to Scotland.
Mr Rana, 45, lodged an appeal at the Supreme Court in Lahore on Saturday to keep his daughter in Pakistan.
Misbah has said she does not want to return to the care of her mother, Louise Campbell, who lives on Lewis in the Western Isles.
The schoolgirl left the town with her father and sister in August.
Ms Campbell lodged a legal petition in Pakistan, claiming her daughter was taken there illegally by her former husband.
Judge Nisar ruled on Wednesday that Misbah should be returned to her mother.
He found that, as the child was a Scottish resident, the case should be heard under the jurisdiction of Scotland's courts.
